Cu Chi

Our second full day in Vietnam (May 29), Dad, Andrew, Angel and I went to the Cu Chi tunnels. You can read all about their history in a guide book, but here's a video showing how hidden the tunnels could be. Below the video is an example of a fake termite mound that they used for ventillation. Certain tunnels have been widened for tourists, but in their narrowest sections, the tunnels can be just 16-18 centimeters in diameter.

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped and bought guavas from this stand that I had seen on the way to the tunnels. It was the highlight of my day. Later that afternoon we piled into a van to the airport and were on our way to Dalat.
